Department of Computer Engineering was established in 1966. Currently the department is the coordinator for the Centre for Integrated Electronic Systems and Biomedical Engineering - CEBE (2008-2015), the European FP-7 REGPOT project Centre of Research Excellence in Dependable Embedded Systems - CREDES (2009-2011), and the European FP-7 ICT project Diagnosis, Error Modelling and Correction for Reliable Systems Design - DIAMOND (2010-2012).

The main activities for the department are:

• Organizing computer hard- and software related studies
• Research in the fields of complex computer systems, their desing, diagnosics, testing, and software development
• Cooperation with universities and enterprises
• Curricula development and modernization of lab equipment
